Budget Season.
  What options should you consider with GP?
 
There are several different options when considering your budgeting and forecasting that are out of the box  integrated with GP.  Let’s walk through some of the options.
 
GP Excel Based Budgeting Wizard-   It’s Free and out of the box GP Module.  You export a range of your GL structure, update your numbers and import them back into GP.  It’s Free and Simple, however you have to be very careful.  If you alter the original formatting you will not be able to import back into GP.  So, this solution is really easy to break and doesn't’t have some more sophisticated functions.

Using the Excel Budget Wizard for Microsoft Dynamics GP
 
Full Circle Budget-  Need just a little more and want to really drive macros in your Budgets but are frustrated getting the info back into GP? Well look no further than Full Circle Budget.  Full Circle isn't’t necessarily a budgeting tool as much as it is a mapping tool to get the data back into GP in a simple, affordable solution.  It’s quick to learn and deploy and can save you from the countless headaches you were getting using the GP Wizard.

Dynamics Budgets-  If you want to have more control over the process of Budgeting and want an application to help manage it then Dynamic Budgets just might be for you.  This is a stand-alone application that pulls from and updates to the GP Budget tables.  This allows you to still use your financial reporting tools like FRx or MR.  This is a flexible tool that is easy to get up and running and master.  You can have multiple budget forms (simple, itemized or custom) and Detailed Payroll information.  It also supports sub ledger and dimensions.  It’s also easy for IT to maintain and it doesn't’t count towards your GP seats.

Solver- BI 360- When your needs outgrow the solutions above and you need something that can grow into your one stop solution for Corporate Performance Management, or CPM, then you should look at BI 360.  BI360 is an Excel Add-In, so it’s able to use all the Excel Formulas that you are already familiar with.  It also provides the meta data, or friendly field names, to make it easier for the report and budget designer.  It’s one interface to learn for all the different modules.
 
This modular based system has Reporting, Report Publishing, Budgeting/Forecasting, a Data Warehouse, and Portals/Dashboards.  You can start small with one or two components then grow into a full Business Intelligence solution.  If you utilize the Data Warehouse you can pull from non- GP data as well.  This might be restaurant POS, Healthcare EMR and patient billing, CRM systems, or any other business application that houses data that would be valuable to the decision making process. One of our clients needed the ability to Budget on a weekly basis and Solver had the solution.  Another needed to use the sophistication for a large number of departments but needed to maintain their budget, and BI 360 provided a solution to help manage pricing levels.

  1. Deposit of Cash Receipt Batches Automatically –  Enhancement to the recently added feature – Now a single deposit will be created for all cash receipts posted in a batch.
     
  2. All In One Document Viewer for Sales and Inventory Transactions – Two new windows that can be used to view related documents for a particular customer or inventory item. It can be easily accessed of off master records, inquiry screens and navigation lists.
   3. Payables Batch Credit Card Payment Option -   Payables invoices can now be paid using a computer check batch linked to a credit card. If a credit card is assigned to a vendor, the payment will automatically create an invoice for the credit card vendor.
